Description
Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) is rapidly increasing in popularity and has proven to be a game-changer for the drilling industry. Some of the benefits associated with MPD include lower mud weights, elimination of casing strings, and the ability to walk the window-type application, to name a few. MPD is well known for reducing non-productive time (NPT). Today, well sections-whether top hole or the pay zone— in many wells are drilled using one of the MPD tiers, similar to UBD tiers. This book is an excellent resource for members of an asset team, particularly drilling engineers. It is written by someone with deep insight into both conventional and closed-loop unconventional drilling techniques, ensuring he knows the pulse of his readers. A masterpiece Edition – 1 that must be read from Spud to TD, or from cover to cover.
READERS WILL DISCOVER HOW
- MPD fits among all the other Closed Loop UDTs.
- To conduct Well Engineering for an MPD section using Single Phase Fluid.
- MPD equipment is related to each Tier level.
- MPD Operations are different from Conventional Drilling or UBD.
- Well Control strategy is designed in an MPD well.
